The final conference “Innovative Curriculum in Smart Agriculture Through Satellite and Remote Sensing Data in Southeast Asia” under the AgriSAT project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, was jointly organized by the National University of Lao (NUoL) and Souphanouvong University (SU) for five days in Vientiane and Luong Prabang, Laos. In Vientiane, the event took place from January 8 to 9, 2024 at NUoL, then continued at SU in Luong Prabang from January 10 to 12, 2024. At NUoL, the closing event was chaired by the President of NUoL together with a representative from the Department of Agriculture Land Management (DALAM), while at SU it was chaired by the Vice President of SU.

The main specific objectives of the closing event are to disseminate the results of the AgriSAT project to relevant audiences, including students, deans of relevant agricultural faculties, other related departments, collaborating higher education institutions, government agencies and private companies. The final event was attended by delegates from the EU partners from VUB, UPC, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, UZ and Opegieka, students and lecturers from Laos including NUoL and SU, and lectures from Cambodia including RUA, NUBB and UHST, with a total of more than 100 participants.

The event included dissemination of project results of each work package, achievements, future plans of each partner and other related GIS and Smart Agriculture achievements and lessons learned, including application of GIS/remote sensing in agricultural land use management; makerbox and Agri-sensing and information dissemination; Application of multispectral UAVs for agricultural research and surveying; Application of GIS/remote sensing in village forest management; Application of UAVs, GIS/remote sensing in land surveying; Conducting local training on the utilization of remote sensing data; Real-time monitoring (Internet of Things).
